metaphysical do-overs

What if life were “choose your own adventure”? I loved those books, even after I got sophisticated enough to realize how trite they were. “Trite” isn’t precisely the word. What I mean is it became so obvious what you had to do in order to avoid getting one of the bad endings. It’s not unlike the feeling I have that now, if given the cosmic chance, I could relive high school and college and get it perfect.

Tangentially related: Reliving my student years would be pointless. Because what are high school and college if not a series of opportunities to figure out how to get things right by first getting them wrong?

Something else I did was read those books backwards and forwards, as many times as possible. You know. So I could experience all the possible endings.

The real life equivalent of this would require tesseracting around from one alternate universe to another.

Or… writing.

(This seemingly random thought I’m sharing may or may not be explained by the next two or three posts.)
