I don’t think it’s meant to be, but it hits me in the gut like that. Am I oversensitive? Is this just a caricature?

I don’t think it’s racist. What makes you think it’s racist? Maybe it’s just an American thing (I’m Dutch). I don’t see the racism in this.

I guess it’s the big teeth that bugged me. But that’s pretty much how everyone gets drawn in cartoons like these.

I think this is a typical political cartoon caricature. nothing more, nothing less. just because the person being portrayed is colored doesn’t make this racist. if he was gay, it wouldn’t be homophobic or if he was jewish then it wouldn’t be anti-semetic.
)
It is true though, we did! (even if I live thousands of miles away, I felt I did my part by sending out good feelings

Nah this isn’t racist at all his lips are big he isn’t doofy and all coonish. What is a bit racist although I know he didn’t mean anything by it is Andy using the term Colored. But I know he didn’t mean anything at all by it.

Didn’t seem racist to me. I noticed the big nose but his ears were big too, looks like a plain caricature to me. And yeah colored isn’t used anymore, British or not I bristled when I read that
