    Nope.
    But my mom, who is really into insects, says it’s the biggest one she’s ever seen. She’s lived in Grenada for close to five years now, but the tropical-sized insects are still shocking.

    Maria, whenever I see one of those, I always think how that caterpillar would make one helluva biology class. We had to be satisfied with worms. Those ones in Grenada would bring the whole meaning of yuck up one level higher.

    @lilalia -
    Biology class! It’s funny that you say that, because my mom is a retired biology teacher, so every day is like fun bio lab day around here. One of those caterpillars is now pupating in an urn full of dirt on our verandah.

My name is María. I like wasabi, patronize bunny rabbits and think red wine really needs to stop pretending it's not purple.

I lived in Caribbean for four glorious years. My son - Joaquín the illustrious Bean - was born on the island of Grenada. He's beautiful, brilliant and has two birth certificates.

Now we're back in the land of snow and afternoon sunsets, and all the diet Coke and Thomas the Tank Engine in the world won't cushion the blow of such culture shock.

This is our story.
