What is Change to You?

This morning I received an invite to the Lipstick for Change Facebook Group. I immediately visited the Lipstick for Change Photo Blog and… wow! Great idea, fabulous photos! Check out this excerpt from their About page:

Lipstick For Change was formed to give men and women the opportunity to show their support for Obama by puckering up for the camera and getting creative about what change means to them.
THE CONCEPT IS SIMPLE:
We’d like to get a flurry of Pro-Obama lipstick images online to reclaim the statement. Because quite frankly, we love to wear lipstick, we’re not pigs (or pitbulls) and we do support Obama.
WE BELIEVE:
In a time when the media should be reporting about policy differences between the candidates, and the candidates should be talking about the REAL ISSUES at hand, we’re stuck hearing about the differences between hockey moms, pitbulls and pigs!
We, as a nation, are ignoring what matters most: the fact that our voices are getting drowned out by all this nonsense and propaganda.
Although there may well be questions unanswered and discussions unfinished, every person has an element of the status quo that they would like to change. This project is meant to be an offering up of those reasons for voting and those changes you desire; a statement of your intent. To inspire those who are uncertain and to empower those who never thought their vote would make a difference.
THE MISSION:
Each person writes one phrase about what change is to them on a piece of card and has their photo taken with it. This is an open & creative experiment, and it is your statement. So if you want to only wear lipstick and a pin, that’s fine, and if you only want to hold a card stating what you believe change is, that’s fine, too.
Please email your own lipstick/change imagery to lipstickforchange@gmail.com
THE REASON:
Because there’s not much time left.
Because your voice matters, too.
Because we no longer subscribe to the mindset of “Keep ‘em dumb, keep ‘em happy.”
Because things don’t just happen, we MAKE THEM HAPPEN.
Because this is a chance for all you intelligent, energetic, passionate people who are just itching to support this movement to be part of something POSITIVE and BIGGER THAN YOU.
And because, most importantly, it’s time we start moving with INTEGRITY.
Please take a moment to join us, send your pictures in, and please pass this along to everyone you know.

I’ll do my own Lipstick for Change photo and post it here. I never wear lipstick — I’m a mascara kind of girl — but for this project I will happily make an exception.
(Thanks, Aly, for the tip!)

Thanks so much for the posting! Love the political angles you highlight on here. Also- we’d love a pic of what change means to you if you’d like to send one along.
Cheers,
